20 things you can watch with 20GB for RM20

April 28, 2020

So since we’re all stuck inside and – let’s be honest – glued to our screens for distraction, we thought we’d suggest a couple of things to watch.

Well, OK, more than a couple, but we’ve got very good reasons.

From now until 30 June, we’re offering a 20GB Base Data Plan for just RM20! That’s right – more savings for your data. So while you take advantage of this great deal, we’re giving you not 6, no 10, but TWENTY things we think you should be watching. In no particular order…

Money Heist

By the end of the season, your head will be spinning with all the twists and turns of this high-stakes drama. Also “Bella Ciao” will be stuck in your head for weeks.

Ozark S3

This deeply-layered crime drama has won praise for its twists, turns, and thrilling performances from the cast. Any more than that and we’d spoil the fun.

Itaewon Class

Park Sae-ro-yi gets expelled from school, loses his father, and ends up in prison (whew). Seven years after his release, he opens a bar-restaurant, DanBam, in Itaewon to find redemption and vengeance, joined by his staff from all corners of society, and friends both

Tiger King

Delve into the gritty story of tiger breeder, former zoo operator and 2016 presidential candidate Joe Exotic, and the clash of wills between big cat conservationists and collectors. And then maybe sponsor some of Zoo Negara’s tigers. They’re more in need of help than some of the folks in here.

Spirited Away

Chihiro and her parents stumble upon an abandoned amusement park, where her parents are turned into pigs. She must then slave for a bathhouse mistress and deal with other inhabitants of the spirit world in order to restore her parents.

Kim’s Convenience

Follow the misadventures of a Korean-Canadian family running a convenience store in Toronto as they deal with customers, each other and the evolving world around them.

Crash Landing on You

Probably one of the more extreme ‘forbidden’ plots we’ve seen in a while. A tornado blows a South Korean heiress into the DMZ, she is rescued by an army captain who promises to get her back home. But first they have to get through the politics, business intrigue, and falling for each other (what kind of drama would it be otherwise?)

Cells at Work

You may never look at platelets the same way again. Check out this anime about cells as people, and give your body a bit of a pat on the back. It’s…seen some things.

The Good Place

What the fork? Eleanor finds herself in the afterlife where she is greeted by its maker, Michael. The utopia she’s been sent to is her reward for all the good things she’s done in life. Except they got the wrong person. Will Eleanor be able to fake it till she makes it – and will she fool the others around her?

The Crown

Stick out those pinkies and settle in for some true Brit, history buffs. This historical drama begins with the marriage of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in 1947, and is scheduled to cover her reign into the present day. So if you’re in for a royally good time, you’ll want to catch up on the 3 current seasons.

Chef’s Table

Here’s our tip: EAT BEFORE YOU WATCH THIS. Binging this delightful, insightful series about the best world cooks may have you eating the couch cushions before it’s all over.

Midnight Diner Tokyo

Enjoy small bites of deliberate, tightly controlled drama, or dive right in. This series of vignettes centers around a late-night diner in Tokyo, and the many curious customers its ‘master’ ends up serving.

Snowpiercer

Post-apocalyptic train fun! Captain America sparks a revolutionary fire against class division in this epic movie with a Korean director based on a French comic. Watch this and then you can be one of those people who can say “You’ve never SEEN SNOWPIERCER?!”

Community

Seriously, stop watching FRIENDS for the 800th time. Community is an awesome character driven sitcom that is very watch-while-having-dinner friendly. 7 members of a study group navigate their way through community college, with every episode as unique and as weird as the last.

Kingdom

Did you hate Game Of Thrones for its crazy slow pacing, but love it for the epic medieval fantasy zombies? Then Kingdom is for YOU! It’s everything we just mentioned all wrapped up in a Korean dynasty…wrapping. Savour this show. Don’t do what we did and binge it. Regrets were had.

Howl’s Moving Castle

Sophie’s your typical if anxious girl-next-door who leads a quiet life selling hats. But everything changes after an evil witch curses her, and she meets the dashing Wizard Howl. Now both must deal with breaking the curse, finding a missing prince, and surviving the war raging around them.

The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor

Dave Chappelle is perhaps one of the greatest modern stand-up comedians. This ceremony celebrates Chappelle’s achievements in entertainment. A who’s who of celebrities and comedians line-up to say a few words about Dave and it is a must watch for comedy lovers.

Ponyo

It’s The Little Mermaid with a twist. A goldfish princess makes her way to the surface world where she meets Sosuke. As their friendship grows, she starts to become more human-like. Ponyo’s dad shows up to bring her home, but when she tries to escape, she ends up endangering Sosuke’s village instead. Follow along as they try to save his home and stick together as friends.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi

Passion. You haven’t seen passion until you’ve done something all your life and still have a thing or two to learn from it. Jiro teaches you that perfection does not come easy and you will learn how much you actually miss sushi during this MCO.

Crazy Ex Girlfriend

Would you give up a successful life for love…even lost? Join Rebecca Bunch, a successful young woman who impulsively gives up her job at a law firm and her life in New York in an attempt to chase down her ex in the unlikely locale of West Covina, California. Along the way, expect lots of personal growth…and musical numbers.
